Why Voting Is Essential: Understanding Its Importance

Elections consistently prove to be a turning point in the history of any country. The same could very well be said about our cherished, beloved and exquisite country. However, unfortunately, many sane, educated and aware people have been heard saying that they would not go out to vote. Pat Mitchell, the American journalist, once said, “If we don’t vote we are ignoring history and giving away the future “.

The question I pose to my fellow Pakistanis is: Do you want your future generations to suffer from these corrupt, stone-hearted, selfish so-called leaders?

If not, then VOTE.

Vote for the right person. Vote for the real women of steel – sinf-e-ahan – not the ones who cannot spend a single day without amenities. Vote for those siding with the truth despite being punished for it. Vote for the ones languishing in jails for crimes they never committed. Vote for the person who is ready to perish for the sake of the country, for the sake of YOU.

Don’t say that your single vote does not matter, for there is no such thing which does not leave an impact. Remember that little drops make up the entire mighty ocean. Don’t say that the match is fixed, when you can pull off a surprise on the last ball. Don’t say that they are too strong, perhaps you may beat the empire.

As someone who still hasn’t turned 18 and is the future of this country, I plead you to please vote for the virtuous, ethical person. For the sake of my future, and the millions of others like me, please go and cast your vote.

A simple guide to the voting process is:

  1. Find your polling station, and the candidates along with his/her symbol from your station by messaging your CNIC number to 8300.
  2. Fill out your voter slip along with all the information provided on the message including your family and constituency details.
  3. Take your original CNIC along with you to the polling station between 8 am and 5 pm.
  4. Ensure your ballot paper has been stamped by the polling officer on the back.
  5. Fold the ballot paper in such a way that your vote is not wasted i.e. from right to left. Also wait till the ink is dry
  6. Drop the correct paper into the correct box.

Once again, I am asking you to vote for the righteous, moral person for the sake of YOU, for the sake of Palestine, for the sake of Kashmir, for the sake of Muslim ummah, for the sake of your tomorrow, for the sake of your future generations. Your vote matters for everyone – from an employee to a businessman, from a trader to a logistics handler, from a farmer to a maid, YOUR VOTE MATTERS. So vote intellectually for the sovereignty of your treasured homeland. Last but not least vote in a way that your vote is not wasted.

I anticipate that I was able to pursue you to vote

With love,

The Future of Pakistan
